Scallop love

I have been really admiring all the beautiful scallop quilts I have been seeing lately. This cute mish-mash of fabrics looked just right to play around with.

I also have been working on a beautiful oversize sturdy bag. I really love how it is turning out and can't wait to share. For now here is a sneak peek...

It's my first time cross hatching, and I must admit it will not be my last; I loved it!
I also cleaned up my sewing room a bit, how cute is this!

I'll soon be posting a few of my favorite things I did to organize this all,
including mini bolts, work in progress totes, scrap jars, and hiding all that ugly stuff!
This cuteness makes it easy to come play around more often.

A first and a free pattern!

Downtown Square!
Today I have a fun, and beautiful quilt pattern to share here Downtown Square PDF, and the very best part is that it is FREE!  I used fabric from Sasha K Studio, Downtown Lace collection.  I hope to have my pattern avaliable on their web site as well.  They have some free patterns on their site, and I am hoping to add a few new ones for them as well.  I love this fabric, it is high quality, and I hope to work with it a lot over the next little while. This pattern was a first, I am not the best at working with computers so it probably took me 3x the amount of time it would most people. After I had it all finished a catastrophe happened, my computer LOST the pattern! I had saved it and worked on it over a couple days, then I did a software update, and when I went to find my pattern it was gone. I was devastated!  I am happy to say the second time it went a lot quicker and I didn't screw it up .
Here are a few pics of the quilt...

A pretty view

And the backing, which looks so fun with the hex fabric in the downtown lace collection.

I can't wait to show off what fun project I have in store next. Sewing my fingers to the bones, as always! Hope you enjoy!

A Fun Glance Back...

Here is a quick history of my favorite quilts that I have completed up to this point.  Nothing beats looking back at old quilts, it is amazing how much time and effort goes into each and every quilt. Quilting is definitely something that has to be done with love.

Hello, from KT sew

Today I had help from my sweet friend Michelle, entering my little crafty obsession onto the world wide web. eek! I am new to the blogging world but am excited to start, and luckily I'll have help as I stumble along figuring this out as I go. I have always enjoyed seeing peoples creations and free tutorials, and I am going to add a few myself soon!
